ORDER

After hearing on January 16, 2020, at which all parties were present, the Court enters the following ORDER with respect the future filing of all motions, oppositions and cross-motions in this civil case. This ORDER is issued pursuant to Rule 6(c) of the Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure ("MRCP"), which permits the Court to fix the period of time for service of motions by order of the Court.

1. Effective immediately, all motions shall be electronically filed pursuant to Housing Court Standing Order 1-20. Service of electronic filings shall be accomplished via e-service as defined in Rule 2 of the SJC's Massachusetts Rules of Electronic Filing.

2. All motions shall be electronically filed and e-served not less than ten (10) days prior to the hearing date marked up for such motion by the moving party.

3. Opposition(s), if any, shall be electronically filed and e-served no less than seven (7) days from the date of the filing of the motion to which such opposition(s) relate.

4. There shall be no cross-motions embedded within the body of an opposition. Absent leave of Court, each motion and/or cross-motion shall be separately captioned, filed and noticed in compliance with this ORDER.

5. Motions and oppositions electronically filed after 4:00 p.m. will be considered filed as of the next business day for purposes of this ORDER.

6. Absent leave of Court, no motion or opposition shall exceed ten (10) pages in length, which page limit shall include all attachments thereto.

7. All motions and oppositions shall be typewritten in 12 point font and double-spaced.

8. The court may order papers not filed strictly in accordance with this ORDER to be stricken.

9. If the MRCP fixes a longer period of time for service of a motion or an opposing response, the longer time period shall apply.

10. This ORDER shall apply to all pleadings filed in the civil case. A separate order shall be entered with respect to the related summary process case bearing docket no. 18H83SP4760NB.
